The mission of the DeLaine Family National Organization is to create and sustain a climate of cohesiveness based on the creed "Family Strength Through Family Unity". Principles that will ensure attendance to true family significance include:
• Organizational operations according to constitutional guidelines and evidence of respect and fairness to each member.
• Honor and respect for ancestors who contributed to mankind, set the standard for interpersonal relationships (within and outside the family), and initiated the emphasis on respect for God, each other and "family spirit."
• Promotion and demonstration of genuine love, trust and respect for each other regardless of status or station in life.
• Promotion and exhibition of unity through networking for personal enrichment; career assistance and exploration; entrepreneurship; investments (personal and family); and act of general concern.
• Encouragement and assistance in the pursuit of excellence in education and for the attainment of educational goals at the highest levels based on desire and potential.
• Encouragement and assistance in the pursuit of various professions and the acquisition and demonstration of true professionalism.
• Assistance to family members who express the need or when the need is apparent.
• Promotion of creativity and talent for all family members.
• Demonstration of pride, dignity, excellence, ethics, positive values and cooperation in family endeavors and interactions.
• Respect and appreciation of family history, heritage, culture and African values.
• Promotion and demonstration of respect and protection of our children.
• Inherent in these principles are the forces, power, visions and understanding that will make and keep our family great!

The Mission Statement was developed by Dr. Thomas H. DeLaine, Sr. and adopted at the 14th Reunion in Philadehhia. PA —1994
